The Sequel Honoring Anna: The Winds of Time Supersedes Honoring Anna, Grounding Douglas Hoff as an Author to Pay Attention to

Honoring Anna: The Winds of Time

Earning good feedback from his first two-series book, Douglas Hoff follows up the tale ingeniously.

Honoring Anna: The Winds of Time is the narrative of Anna’s love and family history as seen through her eyes. The novel delves into the lives of immigrants and homesteaders during two of the most challenging times in American history, the Dirty Thirties and the Great Depression. It is a piece of history that will motivate you to strive for the same levels of bravery and honor that these incredible immigrants possessed and brought to America.

Anna and Iver live on a modest homestead on the harsh and sometimes violent Dakota prairie. The highlight of their lives there is the new home that Anna’s previous fiance journeyed across America to build for her out of unwavering love and honor to fulfill an old vow. As the narrative progresses, Anna and Iver are establishing a little ranch with the wild mustangs they acquired and a herd of Hereford cattle.

Anna is a mother of three tiny children when a significant setback jeopardizes her prairie existence. Iver and his two tiny boys are loading the wagon with coal for the winter when a famished wolf pack pursues them. Iver shoots at them in an attempt to scare them away, but his strategy backfires when the shots stampede his horses. Iver is ejected from the wagon and collides with a massive boulder. As a result of the injuries, he is sent to Mayo Clinic and stays for nearly a year, leaving Anna to care for three children and safeguard their horses and livestock from famished wolves during “the wolf winter.”

Iver finally comes home and progressively heals, but Anna has multiple stillborn children as a result of his return. Anna is on the verge of despair as she imagines God is punishing her for some unknown crime. Anna’s life is transformed when a doctor friend from Minnesota returns and learns what is causing her miscarriages, bringing healing and hope back into her life.

Honoring Anna: The Winds of Time chronicles Anna’s life from the death of her loving husband, Iver, through joyful and terrible times, through of history’s hardest time periods, and while attempting to tame the untamed Dakota wilderness. An unexpected conclusion implies that Rasmus will re-enter her life.

This is a factual account of history recounted through Anna’s eyes in a captivating and sympathetic manner.
